Three monosyllabic words, "At her age?" Who's the her? Martha Stewart. What's the conversation. Martha Stewart dating on Match.com. Our Sharon, called our Martha's online dating "desperate." Since when has wanting to have companionship, love, and relationship been relegate to those who already have one, or perhaps only for the young? Sharon, Sharon, how could you be so cruel? Do you tell your single mates, don't bother, your too old. Do you tell them, don't color your hair, your too old. What's too old? With our lifespan every increasing to live without love or a close relationship is to live half a life. I say Go Martha Go!

Thank you Miss Martha
Who knew that 71 year old Martha Stewart would rock the 50+ dating pool? She did! Last week I caught a conversation Martha had with Matt Lauer on relationships. To myself I said amen and perfect timing. As a veteran dater, much like Martha I knew what I wanted and wasn't meeting men in my work life. I too turned to online dating. Some of my friends were aghast at my boldness, others cheered me from the sidelines saying I was brave. My thoughts. I had to do something that would change what I was doing. Biker Kiss, Match, Eharmony, Perfect Match, and Plenty of Fish. I cast my net far and wide.
Along, the way I kept notes, talked about my experiences, and thought I've got to share what I've learned with others. The result Come Back Cupid! The class geared to adults 50+ makes it debut this summer. What will my students learn? The basics of online dating in an friendly and informal setting. The goal? To live the life you want. If that includes a partner, boyfriend, or husband I want to help you get there. On Saturday, March 19th I'll be presenting the class topic at Get Connected! sponsored by the Oasis Institute in San Diego.
Thank you Martha Stewart for showing up and saying I want to date!

50+ and Looking For Love?
“I believe with all my heart that the cliches are true, that we are our own best friends and best company, and that if you're not right for yourself, it's impossible to be right for anyone.” Rachel Machacek

Never too old for love. I spoke to one of my students today she said, "I'm 72 and too old to date." I stopped for a moment and thought if that's what she believes, then that's the truth whether it's actually true. When it comes to dating it's whatever you say it is. If you say it's the worst thing ever then that's exactly what it's going to be. If you say, "dating is how I'm going to meet someone," that's exactly what it's going to be. If you want to love and be loved…
Let the dating begin!
